Golden Limbata Snakehead (Channa limbata) – Store Description

The Golden Limbata Snakehead, Channa limbata, is a striking freshwater predator admired for its shimmering golden-brown body and active behavior. Known for its vibrant coloring and unique personality, this species makes an exciting choice for experienced aquarists.

Origin:
Native to Southeast Asia, specifically regions in Thailand, Indonesia, and Myanmar, where it inhabits slow-moving streams, ponds, and rice paddies.

Feeding:
This carnivorous species thrives on a diet of live or frozen foods like bloodworms, small fish, and shrimp. It can also adapt to high-quality pellets but prefers meaty foods.

Tank Mates:
The Golden Limbata Snakehead is best kept in a species-only setup due to its aggressive nature. However, it may cohabit with large, robust tank mates, but this is not recommended for long-term peace.

Aggression:
Highly territorial, especially as it matures, this fish is known for aggression toward other tank mates and will often defend its space fiercely.

Experience Level:
Best suited for experienced fishkeepers due to its specific care requirements, aggressive behavior, and large adult size.

Water Parameters:

Temperature: 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F)

pH: 6.0 to 7.5

Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water (5 to 12 dGH)

Tank Size: Minimum 150 liters for juveniles, with much larger tanks needed for adults.

This stunning yet challenging species is perfect for dedicated aquarists seeking a fascinating predatory fish with a bold personality!
